Community-Based Facilitation Training

Want to learn how to improve your public engagement processes? Learn from experts in the field of community-based facilitation about how to make your collaboration more equitable and successful!

Foundations of Community-Based Facilitation will be held on October 2 & 3 in Charlottesville, VA. Over the two days, participants will learn facilitator roles & responsibilities and practice a range of core facilitator skills, including designing an agenda. This interactive training will provide numerous opportunities for participants to practice the skills they are learning and get feedback. Don’t wait to register-- it is sure to fill up fast!

HOW TO REGISTER:

(1) Go to the Weldon Cooper Center's Customer Portal https://coopercenter.my.site.com/main/s/

(2) Create an account

(3) Select "Select a Service" at the Top Left and then the "Institute for Engagement & Negotiation" in the drop down menu.

(4) Click "Register for Events" at the Top

(5) Click the "Foundations of Community Based Facilitation" class and "Next"

(6) Scroll down to finalize registration  (Let us know if you need accomodations, dietary restrictions, or are applying for a scholarship)

(7) Don't forget to pay your invoice! (If you are applying for a scholarship, leave blank until further notice)

Scholarships: IEN recognizes that our society needs leaders who have a deep understanding of the impacts and opportunities of pressing natural resources, social, and economic challenges. We seek to invest in the careers of exceptional, passionate leaders from all backgrounds, and thus are offering two scholarships to members of underserved communities. If you wish to be considered for a scholarship, please email a letter indicating your need for financial assistance and the amount of assistance you are requesting to mkeppel@virginia.edu. All requests for assistance are confidential.
